"Tangled Up in Blue"

This vibrant felted painting is the second in my contemporary abstract portrait collection and features a whimsical woman with flowing turquoise curls set against a lively pink and orange background. Her expressive face, with bright blue eyes glancing sideways and lips pursed in playful surprise, is brought to life with rich texture and color. Embellished details—like the beaded necklace and jewel-like pendant—add sparkle and dimension, while the swirling hair and abstract backdrop create a sense of joyful motion.

This piece incorporates wet, nuno, and needle felting with wool, silk, bamboo, angelina, and viscose fibers. Art yarn and mohair locks were needle felted for the hair. I finished this piece off by embellishing with glass beads.
